Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were preparing for more assaults.
